In this traditional Breton house, the owners wanted to renovate their 16 sqm kitchen to create a true living space—warm, practical, and sociable. Their kitchen supplier had proposed very standardised solutions that did not suit the room’s volumes and lacked personality.

I completely reimagined the layout, moving away from classical configurations to create a dynamic kitchen with carefully considered volumes. By playing with the heights and depths of the cabinetry, I was able to lighten the composition while addressing the family’s specific needs. The materials were chosen to complement the house’s style and bring rhythm to the space: black granite for robustness and contrast, oak for warmth, and matte white for lightness and simplicity.

Circulation flows freely, and the table was placed at worktop height, allowing the family to cook together and also comfortably seat six for meals without crowding the space.
